Where you’ll be
In the trees near Mercer Lake, just north of Florence on the central Oregon Coast. The home backs up to National Forest that goes on for miles.
Honeyman State Park and the dune buggy and sandboard rentals are about 11 miles, Thor’s Well is about 20 miles north and Cape Perpetua 23. For a day trip: whale watching in Depoe Bay (60 mi), Sweet Creek Falls (33 mi) and the Dean Creek elk herd (34 mi).
Sea Lion Caves and Heceta Head Lighthouse are about 10 miles north, and Old Town Florence and the Siuslaw River Bridge are about 10 miles south. The Oregon Dunes, the largest coastal dunes in North America, start just past town.
