Mornings start on the covered porch under the pines. The kids take the eight SHARC passes to the pool, everyone grabs a cruiser for Sunriver’s paths, and the night ends with ping pong, the fire going and the hot tub out back.

In the pines near the bridge and the river trail, with Sunriver’s bike paths right out the driveway.
From Eugene it’s about 2.5 hours via OR-58 and Willamette Pass, often less. For the scenic way, go up the McKenzie River and through Sisters: about an hour to our cabins, then about 1 hour 50 minutes on to Sunriver. You’ll share Sunriver with deer, coyotes, porcupines and the occasional bear, so drive slow and keep music and games indoors after 10. Sound carries through the forest.
Oregon’s only national park is about 1 hour 45 minutes from the house, an easy day trip from Sunriver.
